I don’t believe I’ve ever actually seen the B-1 from above. Cool pic, thanks USAF.
This series of articles from Popular Mechanics is from last year
, so they
may have popped up here previously. Unfortunately some subset of them are behind a pay
wall, but at least the overall rankings are open to all.
You’ll never believe who got number 1! (Hint: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! recently...)
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And the tag for all of the articles:

I wish I could see the X-W ing article.

I approve of this list because the #1 spot is for the correct aircraft.

I agree with most of the selections, though not necessarily the order. But such is the nature of lists. Number 1 should be a shoo in for top of any list, though.

This is a bad list...
Too many flaws for me to even want to enumerate them...

That’s not the B-2

At least share what was left off.

Im curious, when was the B1B widely known about or public knowledge? Was it ever a secret?

Man, I always forget that the B-1 is not only potentially very, very fast, but also carries a honking great ass-load of bombs. 125,000lbs... 62.5 tons... That's a whole goddamn 1.6 maximum legal load semi-trucks worth.

The B-2 is incredibly cool, but it’s arguably not very badass... It’s entire job is to NOT be seen or engaged by the enemy. It’s technology and airframe, and capability are very interesting, but hiding is sort of the antithesis of badass...

I was glad to see the F4U Corsair on the list, as it’s always been my fav fighter from WW2, but the author stepped in it when he said its R2800 Pratt radial was liquid-cooled. Oops.

XB-70, F-14, JA-37, F-86, AN-225, Piper Cub, de Havilland Beaver, de Havilland Mosquito, P-38, P-47, Bristol Beaufighter, A-26 ...
Then you’ve got the fact that P-51 >>> Bf-109, the SR-71 should be number one, several aircraft that don’t belong on this list and a whole lot of other problems.

Badass is of course subjective, but I don’t see much of a consistent argument in that article. In any event, some planes that I would consider badass (certainly more than about half the list above), in no particular order:
In any event, I’m inevitably missing lots of badass planes still, but I think you could easily swap out plenty of stuff in the list for these guys.

Ninjas are badass.

If you’re using Chrome, your wish can come true. Open the website in Chrome. Right-click anywhere and then click “Inspect”. This will bring up th e developer tools. Hit ctrl-f to open the search bar . Type “blur” in the search bar. Click on the down arrow until you are on the third entry (3 of 3).
Click on the “10px” until it lets you edit it. Change it to read “0px” (that’s a zero, not an O). Hit enter.
You can also get rid of the banner by deleting the sticky main section element.
The changes will disappear if you refresh the site and won’t hang around for the next visit.
Enjoy!

Is it a ninja though, or just a sneaky bastard?
